SECOND PLACE TO VISIT....THE SEA....!
When I was a kid, I learned how to swim incidentally.
My mom and I were transporting slabs from a sawmill in Polillo Island in the Phillipines. We were pulling them on top of the seawater. Slabs are thick but they float in water. So while these slabs were floating, my mom and I pulled them so easily so we could bring them to the seashore where we had our salt beds.
At a very young age, I helped my mom in making salts which we sold to make money.
Because we were transporting the slabs by the sea, we always watched small fishes under the sea. These small fishes were so colorful. We wanted to catch them alive. My mom and I had a great time watching and catching them until we forgot that we were at sea. Suddenly, we were walking on seawater. Our feet couldn't touch the seabed anymore. My mom and I together with the slabs were already floating at a deep seawater.
I saw a boat passing by. We waved our hands as if giving the man in the boat a signal that we were drowning, but the man just ignored us.
So what I did was to propel my hands and my feet, holding my mom on her hands, then I paddled, and finally swam, till we reached the shore. To make the story short, I learned how to swim because of the colorful fishes that we usually watched through when we were pushing the slabs on top of the seawater.
So if I would be given the chance to travel and visit places, I would love to go to the sea to see my favourite sea creatures; fishes and corals.
I love swimming and floating as well. But if possible I would love to do diving, scuba diving, or snorkeling.
Here are some places in the Philippines where you can do scuba diving as well as snorkeling.
